Set Sail with Poetry: Online

In honor of National Poetry Month in April, the library hosts an annual poetry contest during the months of March and April for students in grades 2-12 and adults.  This year marks the 17th Annual Poetry Contest, themed “Set Sail with Poetry.”  Participants are encouraged to submit an original poem into the contest, and are then invited to share their work with other poets at our Youth Poetry Café on May 19 or our Adult Open Mic Night on May 25.

A PDF of the entry form is available on the library’s Set Sail with Poetry Contest page of our website.  Aspiring poets are encouraged to stop by their branch library or to print off a paper copy of the entry form to submit with an original poem.  But did you know that you can enter your poem online?  With the click of a mouse you can submit your creation from the comfort of your own home!

To enter online, visit the library’s Poetry Contest page and select the “Enter Online” option.  This will take you to the online entry form, and all you will need to do is complete the fields and submit your poem as an attachment.  Please note that we cannot accept Google Docs at this point, but can accept a PDF or a DOC file.

Be creative!  We can’t wait to read everyone’s work.
